The walking god, Sri Siddeshwar Swami Seer of Jnanayogashram is no more
Sri Siddheshwar Swami, seer of the Sri Jnana Yogashrama of Vijayapura passed away at the ashrama on Monday. He was 82 and unwell for some time.
Vijayapur District Collector Vijayamahantesh Danammanavara who held a press conference about this at Monday night gave the official information on Sri Siddheshwar Swami, well known for his scholarly discourses and who had a large number of followers.
CM Basavaraja Bommai has instructed to conduct the last rites of Seer with all government honours. All the government offices, schools and colleges of Vijayapur have been informed to declare holiday. The final rites will be held Tuesday evening and necessary preparations are being made, said the District Collector.
It is said that CM Basavaraja Bommayi will pay the last darshan of Shri and then take part in the final rites.
Arrangements have been made for the final darshan in the premises of the Ashram till morning, after which the public is allowed to have the last darshan at Sainik School from 6 am to 3pm.
Government honors will be paid from 3pm to 4pm. The Collector informed that the last rites will be done at the ashram at 5 pm.
